Music First™ - Music Therapy and Media Services from Coro Health

Music First™ reflects the philosophy that a patient’s health improves if you proactively incorporate music therapy into a patient’s plan of care.  A Certified Music First™ facility has invested in the technology, training, education and ongoing commitment to utilize Music First™ in concert with pharmacological intervention. 

Participating patients receive a series of custom, individualized Music Prescriptions™ from a Board Certified Music Therapists.  Music and media is automatically scheduled throughout the day and played directly into a patient’s room in order to provide the right music at the right time of day.   Group content, such as daily audio book readings, lectures and current events are available through the interactive Coro Group Activity Center to promote cognitive stimulation and socialization within a group environment.

Benefits of music therapy include increasing and maintaining a level of physical, mental, and social/emotional functioning. The sensory and intellectual stimulation of music has proven to improve a person's quality of life. 

Music therapy has been shown to have profound impacts on persons suffering from Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s or other age related problems such as substance abuse, brain injuries, physical disabilities, acute and chronic pain as well as sleeping disorders.
